four. it picks up moving into pittsburg and concord. >> developing news in vallejo. police are investigating a shooting incident that left one dead and four hospitalized. it happened at 8:30 outside a home on humble a block from his -- i-80. lots of police vehicles and crime tame still there as they try to figure out what sparked the gunfire. two were pushed to the hospital by ambulance and two walked in with gunshot wounds. one dieed. we will have a live update in 30 minutes. >> in contra costa county an antioch woman is recovering after being struck by a bullet in a wild shoot out. two opened fire on each other at 6:15 last night. one of the bullets hit a woman inside her home which was down

the street and around the corner. she is expected to survive. a neighbor says this is an ongoing problem, the third time this home was hit with stray bullets. >> a 14-year-old is in critical condition as being hit by a car in a crosswalk. abc7 news reporter joins us live from concord with what we are lending about the boy. katy? >> beverly the fact that he is 14, police are only confirming he attends a nearby school. but he could go to mount diabolo high school just down the street from the scene of the accident at grant street. the accident happened about 1:30 yesterday afternoon. we have this video and you can see the police working in the intersection where the boy was hit. yesterday was actually a school holiday so it is unclear why he

was in the area of his school. we know he was in a crosswalk. the driver who hit him did stop and is cooperating with police and the investigation the boy suffered life-threatening internal injuries. he is in critical condition at last check. i talked with the police department and they could not give me an update and i reached out to oakland children's hospital where he was transferred after being taken to john muir hospital. i have not heard back from either on the boy's condition. this intersection, locals know, is dangerous. you can see when you look at it, it is clearly marked with white paint here in the cross walk and there is a yellow sign that lets drivers know there could be a pedestrian in the crosswalk but there is no stop sign and no traffic signal and this is a freeway exit here and it is almost like a four or six way intersection.

coast. you can see the clouds on live doppler 7 hd but notice the lack of radar returns. the moisture is back if the air creating the clouds there is not enough for any rain today. these are the 6:00 observations, one that ins can me the most is santa rosa, half mile visibility with a lot of moisture, and 32 degrees so black ice is possible on the bridges and overpasses that are more susceptible to the air temperature. we have mainly mid-to-upper 30's elsewhere, and in oak at 40, mountain view at 41 and san francisco is 46 and san jose is 38 degrees. temperatures around the monterey bay upper 30's, and inland, low-to-mid 30's. sunshine and mild as we spring board into the afternoon, it will be mostly clear in our cool nights hanging out and we will have 70 degree highs possible thursday and friday and that is when the warmth is going to be

lights along a six mile stretch of 280 in the northbound direction underway this morning you may want did give yourself extra time between jackson avenue and leland avenue. >> we have develop news from vallejo. one is dead and four wounded after a late night shooting. amy hollyfield is live off of i-80. >> police are still going through the house. look at all the evidence markers they have on the street. it gives you an idea of how much they have to go through at this scene. they have been here since 8:23 and they need anything they can find. they do not have any leads. last night they found two men at 8:25, and one died at the hospital. later three others walked into the hospital and all of them had been shot.

police were suspicious, but were not sure it was related. this morning they say they have figured out that all five were shot here at this home which is locateed in vallejo with a garage facing eastwood street. four men and a woman were shot. one of the men died. they believe at least a couple of the victims live in this house. one neighbor told the vallejo times that a couple, a man and a woman, moved into the home a month ago, and police say that is all they have right now, they don't have any leads, they have no suspect description to give us, they don't know how many people did the shooting, and i asked if it was gang related or drug-related and they say, too soon to tell and they don't have a motive at this point. reporting live in vallejo. >> bank robbery suspect is underarrest this morning following a dramatic and explosive end to a five hour stand off in newark.

abc7 was there as officers fired two concussion canisters into a motel room and police say a man suspected of robbing a bank in fremont barricaded himself inside and he finally surrendered after 8:00 last night. he and another man are suspected of robbing a bank of the west three miles away earlier in the day. >> a man is if custody this morning after leading police on a chase through several counties. we brought it like as it happened on abc7 at 11 ending in east oakland. our abc7 news emeryville tower caught the pursuit as it went through berkeley on interstate 80 reaching over 100 miles per hour. the highway proposal ended off interstate 580. >> new this morning, the search for accused cop killer christopher dorner has authorities focusing on mexico.

they raided a motel last night and it is believed he may have fled to mexico to avoid prosecution. the ex-lapd officer is facing murder charges in the shooting death of a riverside police officer that brings the death penalty. >> the vatican is admitting pope benedict had a pacemaker for years and he underwent secret surgery throw months ago to replace the battery. the vatican says pope benedict will not take part in choosing the successor. he appointed most of the cardinals would will choose the next pope with the largest bloc coming from europe. in the bay area many who gather for mass last night prayed for the pope. some students hope the next pontiff opens a dialogue on issues such as married priests and same-sex marriage. >> i believe in a lot of the traditions and stands we have in the church but we need to move

and the high school down the street from the intersection. school was out yesterday but there are reports that the 14-year-old who was hit was a freshman so we believe he attended school there but school was out yesterday so we don't know why he was in the area. this video from sky 7 of the accident, around 1:30 yesterday afternoon, the boy was in a crosswalk and the driver did stop and is cooperating with the investigation. police say it does not look like the driver was speeding or drinking. the boy was initially taken to the medical center which is right down the street and across from the high school but transported to oakland children's hospital. i have reached out to children's hospital for an update but have not heard back on his condition at this time. >> 6:47. new this morning, the novato police department have a man in custody facing charges of attempted lewd acts with a

now, to jane king. >> good morning. the late payment rate on mortgages is at a four year low so another positive for housing. california is the state seeing the most improvement. the delinquency rate is down by a third from a year ago to above a percent. watch for the price on your homeowner's insurance to go up if january is any indication, insurance rates up 3 percent to 4 percent in january compared to a year ago at the number of severe weather events increase and the cost insuring a business against catastrophe is at record high. the markets this morning are pretty quiet. we are mixed but distributionless so far. the silicon valley index trading slightly lower. investors watching the airline industry and these two companies if particular as expected for a merger announcement intensify and "wall street journal" reporting the boards of
